National Executive Committee Elections
We have two vacancies on the National Executive Committee (NEC) for the remainder of the 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2021 term of office. One vacancy is for the position of Executive Officer, and one is for the National Regional Officer for Swindon and London Admin Centres (Relationships & Distribution).
The NEC is an important part of the Union’s structure and organisation. NEC members meet bi-monthly to direct Union activity and policy. This includes debate about the ongoing negotiation and consultation process with Nationwide, the provision of services to NGSU members and overseeing the running of the Union. NEC members have the opportunity to participate directly in the consultation process via the Employee Involvement Committees.
Nationwide recognises and supports the work of the NEC by providing up to 11 paid days off a year.
Nomination and Election Process
To be eligible for the role of Executive Officer, an individual must be an NGSU member and be employed by the Nationwide Group.
To be eligible for the role of National Regional Officer, an individual must be an NGSU member and employed by Nationwide in Swindon and London Admin Centres (Relationships & Distribution) region.
Nominations must be in writing and signed* by a Proposer and Seconder, who must also be NGSU members (and from Swindon and London Admin Centres (Relationships & Distribution) region for the role of National Regional Officer). If more than one nomination is received for either position an election will be held for that position. The election will be conducted by Electoral Reform Services Ltd (ballot services).
