International Workers’ Memorial Day

Main Content

Worker's headstoneDid you know that more people are killed at work every year than in wars? On 28th April, trade unions around the world unite to mark International Workers’ Memorial Day to remember those who have lost their lives at work, or from work-related injury and diseases. We renew our efforts to organise collectively to prevent more deaths, injuries and disease as a result of work.

Naturally, this Memorial Day, those who have lost their lives helping others during the coronavirus pandemic are at the forefront of all our minds. And this year, trade unions around the world are urging everyone to mark a minute’s silence at 11am to remember all those who have lost their lives through work.

For more information, see the TUC’s page dedicated to International Workers’ Memorial Day.
