Reading Pride Parade – 1st September

The LGBT Network at Nationwide is taking part in Reading Pride and is inviting colleagues and their family and friends to join them.

Matt Israel, co-chair of the LGBT Network, explains more:

“This summer, we’re taking part in Pride parades up and down the country. Pride marches bring together those from the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) communities and their allies to celebrate difference, to promote inclusion and to advance equality.

Around 170 colleagues have walked in Birmingham, Edinburgh, London, Bristol, Glasgow, Belfast, Brighton, Leeds and Bournemouth Prides and we’ve still got Manchester, Cardiff, Southampton, Leicester and Reading to come.

The really exciting news is that we are sponsoring Reading Pride Parade on 1st September, and we have an ask of you all. We need your support. We want as many of you, your friends and family to join us and we’re hosting a pre-parade rainbow breakfast in our new Reading branch for everyone who walks with us. Once we’re all in our Nationwide pride t-shirts we’ll head from the branch to the parade route to walk together. Get in touch with the network to secure your space now.

Reading Pride is in its fifteenth year, and you can expect a full line-up of entertainment throughout the day along with a funfair, youth area, a wide range of food, drink and market stalls.

This is a great opportunity to get your team together and use your volunteering hours to walk in the parade with us.

Show your support for your LGBT colleagues and help us celebrate difference, promote inclusion and advance equality as we party at Reading Pride together.”
