Joint Consultation and Negotiation Committee – Summary for January 2015

The Joint Consultation and Negotiation Committee received presentations from a number of guests.

Iain Baines and David Cook provided the regular pensions update including the proposed revised Member Nominated Trustee arrangements and activities to increase awareness amongst non-members and members.

Tina Sherrington gave an overview of various activities to support employee wellbeing and it was agreed that the JCNC would receive quarterly updates. .

Iain Rusling returned to the JCNC to provide an update on a pilot which took place in December as part of work to strengthen security arrangements.

Irum Mirza gave an update on rewards activities, including the regular annual review of bonus arrangements and the annual Allowances review. The JCNC discussed proposals relating to the Society’s reward principles.

Chris Shelley and Sam Haysom gave an overview of regulatory changes relating to Strengthening Individual Accountability (SIA); further consultation between the NGSU and Nationwide will take place as the impact of the SIA framework becomes known.

Rosemary Crabb provided an update on the take up of Youchoose 2015. NGSU requested that the Society consider enabling individuals to sell holiday in future years.

Paul Brock gave a general update on the Intranet Transformation Project and the enhancements to individual profiles enabling the use of photographs.

A number of actions were agreed. The next JCNC will take place on 3 February 2015.
