Joint Consultation and Negotiation Committee – Summary for October 2014

The Joint Consultation and Negotiation Committee received presentations from a number of guests.

Tuan Le and Kirsty Hughes returned to the JCNC to provide a progress update on the Employee Mobility programme which forms part of the Enabling A Great Place to Work project.

Rachel Gwynne (RG) provided a high-level overview of the Group’s indicative interim performance ratings and the JCNC discussed some of the data trends.

Caroline Horwood and Kelly Higston provided an update on the activities of the Culture and Inclusion team, including forthcoming Pride activities and work to support ethnicity and disability diversity.

Stephanie Tapner talked through achievements of the newly formed Redeployment and Exit team and their areas of future focus. It was agreed that updates from this team be included as a regular agenda item.

Neil Lewis provided his regular update on the ongoing HR Systems transformation programme, outlining future communications to the business.

The NGSU raised a concern regarding the use of a Contact Centre document which set out some aspects of HR policy and it was agreed to review the use of the document.

The JCNC noted the publication of a new mini-guide supporting the Expenses Policy (Staying Safe on UK Business Travel) which followed an NGSU 2013 conference motion. The

NGSU requested that the Society further consider the insurance arrangements which apply to employees undertaking business travel on public transport.

A number of actions were agreed. The next JCNC will take place on 12 November 2014.
