b) The person appointed under section 51A to carry out the distribution of voting papers was Electoral Reform Services Limited.
c) A copy of the register of voters (as at the relevant date) was examined in accordance with section 49(3). The examination took place at our own instance and did not reveal any matter that should be brought to the attention of the trade union.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) has approved the payment of a £5,000 donation from the Union’s charitable fund to support the aid appeal for the Philippines following the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan. According to the UN and World Health Organisation, the latest estimates suggest that over 5,000 people have died and 13 million have been affected in some with way, with 4 million people displaced and 2.5 million in need of food aid (source: www.un.org).
The Charitable Fund was created in 2005 and allows the Union to make donations recognising our wider responsibility to the national and international community. Requests for charitable donations are considered and authorised by the NEC.
The recipient must be a registered charity. The Charity is to be nationally recognised (possibly with the exception of charities local to NGSU Head Office).
