1. Object To provide members with chances to win cash prizes and to provide funds for the Nationwide Group Staff Union (the Union).
2. Eligibility Open only to members of the Union (including Retired and Associate Members).
3. Subscriptions Income will be created by monthly subscriptions in units of £1, up to 10 units per member. Additional Draw numbers, up to that limit, will be issued if a member wishes to alter their monthly subscriptions, on receipt of at least six weeks’ notice in writing to the lottery Promoter. In such circumstances, the Promoter may cancel the Draw numbers previously held, and issue new numbers for the whole value of the new subscription. Numbers are not transferable.
4. Collection of Subscriptions Members may choose to have their subscriptions collected by Direct Debit from a current account operated in the UK, or via salary deduction by Nationwide Building Society or one of its subsidiaries (the Society). Subscriptions will be collected until the member ceases to be a member of the Union, or until the expiration of 6 weeks’ notice in writing given by the member to the Lottery Promoter of their desire to withdraw. Subscriptions already collected cannot be returned but chances thus paid for will be included in the relevant Draw.
5. The Draw The monthly draw will take place at Middleton Farmhouse, 37 Main Road, Middleton Cheney, Banbury, Oxfordshire, or such other venue as may be decided by the National Executive Committee. The Draw will ordinarily take place on the first Wednesday of the month, and in any event, no later than the 7th of each month.
All numbers paid for by the deadline for inclusion will be entered in the Draw.
The first valid chance number drawn shall win the first prize, and so on. Any number drawn that has not been prepaid for any reason will be disregarded.
In addition to an officer or employee of the Union, two members of the Union will be present at, and confirm their satisfaction with the conduct of, each Draw.
6. The Results will be published by the Promoter each month. Prize winners will be notified in writing within seven days of the Draw.
7. Prizes Up to 75% of the total monthly subscriptions collected will be allocated in prize money, as in the table below. Prizes will, if necessary, be rounded down to the next whole pound. All income not allocated as prize money will form part of the funds of the Union, and will be under the control of the National Executive Committee in accordance with the rules of the Union.
Prize money will be paid only to the persons to whom the winning numbers were sold by the Promoter.
