Covid-19

Main Content

Members will be aware that the situation regarding the coronavirus COVID-19 is changing on an almost daily basis. We are in very close contact with the Society regarding the measures they are adopting / considering, and the General Secretary has joined the regular SIM meetings.

We are also aware of the Society’s intention to open branches in certain locations at 8am, so that particularly vulnerable customers can attend as soon after branch cleaning as possible. We have been assured that this is being done on an entirely voluntary basis – if anyone feels that they or their colleagues are being pressurised to work these hours, please let us know through the survey mentioned below.

We advise members who are concerned that they or members of their household have a condition that makes them particularly vulnerable, we strongly recommend reviewing both the Society guidance and the Government’s advice at

We also have a survey on our website that we would ask members to complete – https://ngsu.org.uk/covid-19-survey
